An interesting comment
An interesting comment on this blog from a person by the name of ‘Michelle Taylor’. I thought that I’d put it up as a post because the actual page ‘regular happenings’ at ranges does change occasionally. My response in underneath. ‘Michelle has been commenting of a few Australian Vineyard blogs. One on the Geoff Report which you can see here.
How can you endose alcohol?
Pig n Whistle on a wednesday nite – that is a pub
As leaders you should be beyond reproach!
God hates drunkeness – why would you support a pub. and how do you know if your church members are strong enough to hold back.
As leaders in our church we should not encourage drinking – How could God approve that?
I was considering visiting your church with some of my family whom are new christians – but i being a strong stable christian do not agree with this.
Hi Michelle, thanks for the comment. I think there is a clear difference between Alcohol and drunkenness. Jesus certainly didn’t have an issue with alcohol . His first miracle was turning water into wine. He drunk wine during passover. The apostle Paul suggested to Timothy to drink wine for his medical condition. I agree that drunkeness should not be part of Gods church, or any addictive behavior for that manner. The aim of the pig and whistle night is not to get drank, it is there to meet many of our neighbors who would never set foot in a Church. It is a great opportunity for us to talk about what we believe and why. Most of the people who attend don’t go to Church and aren’t even Christians for that matter. If there where people who I suspected of having a drinking problem I would probably discourage them from coming along.
