Sex God, by Rob Bell
If there was one book which I would give to people who didn’t understand the Christian notion of sexuality it would be ‘Sex God’ by Rob Bell. He seems to be able to navigate the stereo type Christian notion of sexuality as a ‘moral’ idea based on the law and St Pauls writings. Instead of what it really is about, a Spiritual issue.
Anyway I thought it was a great book. snipits which I’ll probably use in weddings. here is an example.
I especially liked the idea of ‘two becoming one’
When a couple first gets married, there are a thousand little adjustments they’re constantly making, a thousand discussions about the details of life, a thousand conversations about trivial things that are actually significant. On their own, these conversations and interactions don’t man much, but added together, they’re how two become one
What kind of toothpaste do you use? Or do we use the same tube? What side of the bed to you sleep on?…….
It really made sence of two becomeing one physically but also in all aspects of life.
I’ve been meaning to read this book- I’ve heard lots of great things about it. And especially if it’s anywhere near as good as Velvet Elvis! It’ll be a holiday read I think
